Ready4k is a free, research-based text-messaging service for parents.

Each week, parents will receive three texts with fun facts and easy tips to boost their child's learning. Ready4K activities build on the things that you already do with your child ‐‐ like getting ready for school, meal time, and going to the store ‐‐ to make supporting your child’s development fast, fun and easy.

Kits for New Parents

First 5 California offers the free Kit for New Parents (Kit). The Kit recognizes parents as their child's first and most important teacher and includes information on nutrition, safety, quality child care, health, discipline, and early learning.

Early Childhood Collaboratives

Throughout Monterey County, many families with young children are asking for ways to understand the unique needs of their child and family. They also are looking for support in accessing parenting information and needed service options. First 5 MC's support for Early Childhood Collaboratives helps connect families to resources by providing child development screenings, parenting information, and services to children prenatal through age 5 and their families. They can also help families with referrals and assist with coordination of services.
